Just a short drive from the town centre of Vrhnika, you can find a narrow road that takes you to Star maln, which is on the way to the hill of Planina nad Vrhniko. But stopping by at the Star maln is sometimes also the destination, because you can enjoy the lovely spot in the middle of nowhere, just relax outside or enjoy the food and drinks from the cabin bar. They serve all kinds of hot and cold beverages, sweet and savory snacks. THe staff is really nice and talkative and you can find some interesting individuals there, too, who made this natural corner their little Sunday getaway and are happy to meet new people who wants to talk to them.

The dam capturing the water of the stream Bela, which is very well know for its spring called Lintvern. They used to believe that the dragon called Lintvern had a temple up in the gorge of stream Bela. Bela is known to have healing properties and carry a dragon’s secret to a long life. You can swim in the water, captured by the dam or just enjoy the food and drinks from the cabin.

In the summer, this is popular family swimming destination and in colder months an excellent cold water dip spot.
