Natural bridge and a picturesque trail
Rakov Škocjan is a karst valley through which the river Rak flows. It lies between Cerkniško and Planinsko filed, southeast of the highway section near Unec.
From a cave to the bridge
Ruined and demolished? Welcome to another Karst masterpiece
Surely you have already heard about the natural bridges, brothers named Big and Small, which were created while their sister, once a karst cave, was ruined and demolished.
Ruined and demolished? It sounds like something that would happen suddenly and in a flash… But in another Karst masterpiece, the valley of the river Rak, this process took many years in order to offer us the beauty of nature, where you can also come with LeMi on a day break along the marked learning trail bikes. Several paths lead to the first Slovenian landscape park through rugged terrain, most of which are also accessible by bicycle. In addition to the promised unhidden corners with the mightiness of Mother Nature’s creations, you can also observe the variety of green areas along the river bank and the picturesqueness of animal species… You will almost certainly meet a dragonfly there, which in many cultures is also a messenger of change.
