Cascade or harmonica?
You might come around an amazing waterfall… or… just a trickle of water.
Enjoyable family hike
Magic after rainy days
Orglice Waterfall, located in the Kamniška Bistrica Valley, offers visitors a 40-meter-high cascade when it’s flowing at its fullest. However, the waterfall isn’t always guaranteed to impress; in drier conditions, youmay encounter only a trickle of water. We found just enough water to refill our bottles for the rest of the hike.
The hike through the forest and across dry riverbed remains enjoyable, enriched by historical landmarks such as a WWII partisan hospital site and the memorial to American pilot Otto Hinds. The trail, taking about an hour from Kamniška Bistrica, is well-marked and family-friendly
In winter, the waterfall freezes into unique formations resembling a harmonica, giving it its name and making it a popular destination even in the colder months. Though the waterfall might not always flow strongly, the surrounding nature and tranquility still provide a rewarding experience.
You can also explore nearby attractions, like the Predaselj Gorge and the Kamniška Bistrica River source – we have been there – stay tuned for the post 🙂
