Camp Vodenca

very nice atmosphere

Just 10 minutes away from a well known Bovec, tucked in a peaceful shelter of trees, with a distant sound of water, there is a camp called Vodenca and it will instantly become your favourite place in the area.

An original camping vibe

Close to the river, next to the forest

As the owners say, “your home away from home” – and we couldn’t agree more. We were well acquainted with the Bovec area, but this was our first time visiting this campsite. All our requirements, from being in nature to the quick response of the staff and of course the peace and quiet for a relaxing break, were met in an instant. This feeling of being close to the Soča River, but with no one jumping on your head, or worse – on your pitch, is priceless. Almost every day of our stay we had fun observing the energetic approach of Saša at the reception, who has a good idea of what the purpose of the campsite is and what kind of guests she wants on the property.. She is always ready to talk to the guests, find optimal solutions and she quickly makes friends with many of them. You can sense that this is a family run business and that everyone is trying to make the guests feel good.
We stayed there at the beginning of June, when the camp was half full but actually felt quite empty – in a good way. We found a pitch at the very end corner of the property and we loved it. Hidden in the shadow of the forest, trees and some bushes, we had a lot of space, but also light, not only for our van and tent, but also for playing some frisbee and badminton. We really enjoyed the quietness of the place, that is actually just above the Soča river, but you cannot see it from there unless you take a nice walk.
This time, after a while of going to places almost every week and doing “something”, we only did some necessary work and then really took time to enjoy and relax. We could go and do many activities, such as rafting, canyoning, ziplining, kayaking, parachuting, cycling, horseback riding, climbing, caving, hiking, because the camp is a great starting point for all of this. We chose to stay at the camp, taking pretty long walks to the showers, grabbing some drinks at the camp bar and cuddling the cats (and we cannot tell who was happier 😉 )
We definitely recommend this camp, because it goes back to the core of camping – staying in nature and be at your own pace. You can chill and relax or be very active. Also amazing for families, the children have a lot of space to play, while parents can relax on benches beside purpose-built open fire pits.
