Waterfall Peričnik

Rushing sound and curtain of water

Walking behind the waterfall is an unforgettable experience, especially refreshing on a hot sumer day.

Be prepared to get a bit wet

An excellent backdrop for beautiful photos

If you have ever visited Kranjska Gora, you surely know that it hides numerous natural beauties just waiting to be explored. One of them is the Vrata Valley, with its enchanting views and, of course, the magnificent Peričnik Waterfall. This spectacular waterfall captivates visitors in every season and offers an unforgettable experience. Everyone visits it 🙂

The road to the Vrata Valley, where the waterfall is located, leads from Kranjska Gora and is a scenic journey in itself, with views of the majestic peaks of the Julian Alps greeting you along the way. In the Vrata Valley, there is a designated parking area, from which the path to the waterfall begins. Keep in mind that during the summer season, the parking lot can get quite crowded, so an early morning visit or a weekday trip is recommended.

The path from the parking area to the lower Peričnik Waterfall is short and easy. After just a few minutes of walking, you’ll be greeted by the magnificent view of the lower Peričnik Waterfall, which, with its rushing sound and curtain of water, feels like something out of a fairytale.

A unique feature of this waterfall is that you can also walk behind it! Be prepared to get a little wet, as the water sprays in all directions. On summer days, this can be particularly refreshing.

The terrain around the waterfall can be quite slippery, so it’s recommended to wear shoes with good grip, such as hiking boots.

Walking behind the waterfall is an unforgettable experience, but be prepared to get a bit wet. A waterproof jacket or an extra shirt will definitely come in handy!

Peričnik Waterfall is an excellent backdrop for beautiful photos. It’s particularly fascinating in winter when the water freezes into magical ice sculptures.

In just a few minutes of walking, you can witness one of the most beautiful sights of the Gorenjska region, while enjoying the fresh mountain air and the tranquility of nature.

Regardless of the season, the waterfall will surely captivate you. In summer, you can enjoy a refreshing cool down beneath it, and in winter, it transforms into a spectacular icy scene that attracts nature lovers and photographers alike. Let Peričnik Waterfall be your next adventure – you won’t regret it!
